Start with the original game when you want a longer roster puzzle. Its full mode asks you to fill six offensive and six defensive positions, so an early pick can affect both lineup balance and the value of later franchise-and-era rolls. An offense-only option is available when you want the same decision loop in a shorter run.
Choose the fantasy-style game when you prefer a seven-pick lineup built around seasonal production. Its QB, RB, WR, TE, and FLEX slots make position scarcity, FPPG, chemistry links, and team or year rerolls the central trade-offs. Neither mode has one fixed solution because every run changes the available player pool.
